PAWS (Peru Animal Welfare Society)

Street animal overpopulation and the lack of accessible veterinary care are critical issues in many vulnerable areas of Peru. Countless dogs and cats suffer from abandonment, malnutrition, and preventable diseases, while local communities often lack the resources and knowledge to manage animal health and welfare effectively.

PAWS (Peru Animal Welfare Society) is a non-profit initiative dedicated to improving the lives of street animals and promoting responsible pet ownership in the Cusco region. The project focuses on three core pillars: executing continuous sterilization and vaccination campaigns to humanely control the animal population, providing emergency veterinary care to rescued animals, and conducting educational workshops in local schools and neighborhoods.

By sharing knowledge and working directly with the community, PAWS aims to create a healthier, safer, and more compassionate environment where humans and animals can coexist harmoniously.
